Where's the "glow"?

Lately, this is the first imagine that comes to mind. Imagine two of these hanging from your chest... Sorry for the disturbing picture. This has been my most troubling pregnancy issue so far. None of my clothes fit and they pretty much just get in the way. How does Dolly do it? Did anyone else experience this phenomenon?

So I ask, where is this pregnancy "glow"? All I feel right now is pudgy, and not pregnant. I need some encouragement from my fellow bloggers. I am wondering when this stage ends, and the "glow" begins. When did you start to show in your first pregnancy?

You know that was my favorite part of pregnancy! I started showing around 18 weeks I think.

Hey Casey! Found you thru Amy.

Congratulations on the baby! I showed Jim your post about Justin. Hilarious!

As for the pregnancy glow and actually showing... I can't remember exactly when you start showing- I do know that I looked chunky for quite awhile! I'm not sure that I ever actually had the glow, but felt like I did during the second trimester! Good luck!

Hang in there Casey!! There are so many things about pregnancy that no-one shares with you and I don't know why!!! I started showing sometime around 12-14 weeks. You will just feel "bloated" for while and then around 20 weeks you start feeling cute and ready to show off your baby buldge!!! I never got big boobs until Sophie was born and I started breastfeeding!! Then it was like, look out! Paul liked that part as I'm sure Justin does as well. :) Every week will get better. Hope that helps!

Hey Casey,
I found your blog from Amy's page. Congrats on the baby!! It is a wonderful experience. About the whole big boob thing, I have always been big so when I became prego, it was like watch out to anyone within 2 feet!! Some people love that part, but I hated it!! I think I started showing a little around 15 weeks. However it was hard for people to really tell until around 20 weeks! It really does get better and enjoy this time while you can. I love being pregnant!!

I think really around 20 weeks with my first. This one is completely different story like around 14 or so. I saw you the other night and you definitely looked like you had a glow. You looked beautiful:) Never had the boob problem only when my milk came in and the girls were huge!

Hey Casey!
It's your fellow red-headed friend from Lipscomb, Laurie! I found you through...I don't know...somebody's blog. I know how you feel. I really didn't like being pregnant at all until about 1/2 way through..but just remember everyone else thinks you are cute even if you don't!
glad y'all are doing good!
love,
Laurie Garrison Frantz

Dude, my boobs were huge to me, but not to anyone else!

I agree with Amanda, you already have the glow and you don't even know it and I didn't notice the watermelon issue...not that I was looking.

My biggest advice is to enjoy your pregnancy as much as you can (it's easier when you feel them move) and don't worry about the weight part. I say that because I did the complete opposite and regret it now that I'm not pg anymore.

Just hang in there. Pretty soon you'll be wishing for these days of "not showing" anymore when you can't see your feet! xoxo

You are hilarious! I have no doubt you look so cute. I will say these weeks until about 20 you just feel fat, not pregnant. I agree with everyone who left comments about 20 weeks you will begin looking preggers and it is true you may not feel cute, but everyone else thinks you are. I want to come see you soon!

funny. proud of you for saying that on a blog! that was absolutely NOT the case for me. i felt robbed, in fact. they sure did come in after ethan's birth though. every pregnancy is different. mine wasn't too bad - just bad heartburn, leg cramps during the night, and discomfort during sleep. for me, i felt nice and "cute-pregnant" at about 5 months.

Wait till your milk comes in afterwards. That's what I am going through right now. :)

I am looking forward to seeing you when we can take Colt out in a few weeks. I know you will look precious as you start to "show" I started showing about week 16.

I meant to tell you that I also LOVE wrapping gifts. And I'm a sucker for notecards. But 6 years ago, I made a vow not to buy any more notecards up until I deleted the current stack. Needless to say, I still haven't used them all up!!! And I love the wrapping, but I'm in the same situation - I have so many bags that I can't seem to get rid of them all. I'm also now enjoying cutting up a Kroger bag, turning it inside out for a cute brown wrapping & tying a pretty bow on top. It's hard to resist the urges, but I'm with you - I LOVE wrapping a gift. Especially at Christmas - to have all coordinating gifts - I'm excited just thinking about it.

PS. The thing I remember most about Casey F. is how nice her handwriting was on the crafty poster above her bed w/her name on it. :)
